Dr. L.H. Buxton 1921-26
J.B. Garrison 1927-38
Clarence Buxton 1938-52

Dr. Buxton built this house. He was an important leader in the founding of Epworth College of Medicine and in its subsequent merger into the University of Oklahoma. He had been an ear, nose and throat physician before going to Guthrie to practice. In 1899, he moved to Oklahoma City. He was Professor of Opthalmology and subsequently head of the Otorhinolaryngology Department of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He maintained a large private library; he was a well-educated and brilliant man, a good speaker and dynamic leader.

His son, Clarence Charles Buxton, was cashier of the Oklahoma School Land office at Guthrie. He moved to Oklahoma City and married Marie Garrison, daughter of J.B. Garrison, who started the Garrison Milling Company. Clarence Buxton worked within this company.
