This is another "one of a kind" mingled light red brick English house which has a complicated high hipped roof system. Off the center is a chimney which has been turned forty-five degrees to the front facade in two columns, using cut stone transition pieces and ending in chimney pots and ornamental brick work as a capitol.
Harrison Smith 1933-37
Felix Simmons 1937-56
Dr. A. Billups McNatt 1956-72
Mr. Smith was president of Harrison Smith Distributing Company. His son, Boston Smith, was a well known local attorney and former district judge.
Mr. Simmons, an Ardmore banker, was vice president of the Liberty National Bank from 1947 to 1952. He played a key role in the perjury trial against former Oklahoma City Mayor O.A. Cargill during the state Supreme Court scandal of the 1960s. Simmon's testimony in the trial centered around the changing of large bills for N.S. Corn, former justice of the state Supreme Court, who was incriminated in the scandal. Cargill was convicted of lying to a federal grand jury about financial transactions with members of the state Supreme Court. Simmons returned to Ardmore to head a bank there until his death.
Dr. McNatt was a physician in private practice. Mrs. McNatt at one time was a superintendent of several schools. After McNatt's death, she married Mr. Thompson of Hudgins, Thompson and Ball, architects.
