This red brick four-square hipped roofed house has a triple dormer in the center. There is a two-story wing on the east with a porch door.
H.L. Lair 1923-49
Pat Johnson 1949-69
Mr. Lair, who lived in this house from 1923 to 1949, made the famous run into Oklahoma Territory. He staked out many acres of land and farmed for a great many years before moving to Oklahoma City where he became a policeman. Mr. Lair was one of the founders of 4-H Clubs in the state. His name was one selected to be inscribed on the cornerstone of the Capitol Building. The Lairs were associated with the Farmer-Socialist political group. His brother, Emerson Lair, was in the legislature during early-day statehood.
Mr. Johnson was an attorney for the Kerr-McGee Oil Company. Mrs. Johnson was president of the Oklahoma City PTA Council during the year 1957-1958.
