Reflecting his interest in Frank Lloyd Wright's prairie style school of design, Jewel Hicks used such devices as the long spanned front porch, wide overhangs, stone urns, massive brick columns and a bank of seven leaded glass casement windows to complete his strong and simple composition. This house was built in 1918 by the master craftsmen of Smiser Construction Co.
