HIGHLIGHTS from this block's history: Years ago, a 14th Street resident who served as head of the Corporation Commission was believed to have hidden embezzled funds throughout his house, fleeing to Mexico just a few steps ahead of the long arm of the law. Another 14th Street dweller was a ham radio operator who helped keep the lines of communication open between soldiers in Vietnam and their loved ones back home during the 60s. This street was also once home to one of our state's most prominent citizens, Robert S. Kerr, who served as Governor of Oklahoma and U.S. Senator, and the founder of Kerr-McGee Oil Company.
