629 N.E. 16th Street

629 is a red brick hipped roof house with central porch roof over fanlight and side light door extending to a porte-cochere on west. This house, at the time the application for historic district was made, had its original pine shrubbery and a very Colonial air.

Cary Townsend 1926-69

Dr. Townsend was an 89er who came from St. Louis. He was a prominent surgeon in early Oklahoma City and later served as municipal physician for the City.
