600 N.E. 17th is a large red brick house with red Spanish tiled hipped roof. The central mass is symmetrical with a one-story porch projecting at the front door ornamented with cut stone pilasters and railing trim over a cornice topped with urns. The door is surrounded with a large arch and opens onto a wrought iron fenced terrace the length of the house. To the east is a hexagonal two-story wing with arched, full length windows at the study.

John Y. Iskian 1945 -

John Mideke was vice president of Mideke Supply Company.

John Y. Iskian is an Armenian merchant whose shop had one of the finest collections of antique oriental rugs in the United States.
