424 N.E. 16th Street
The plan of this house is a variation of the "standard" Dr. Nichol's plan used over and over again between 15th and 20th Streets in the Capitol area. This plan is still the essence of comfort for family living. The living room is entered from a projected entrance and is flanked on the opposite side with an arched porch. Above the first floor is a panel of basket weave brick work, all in brown tone.

Mr. Shaffer was an oil contractor for B & A Drilling Co.
Dr. Murdock was a physician.
