This simply designed traditional frame house has two projecting bay windows -- one on the ground level and one on the second level. The front porch columns are later additions, and the roof has been modified from an original "L" shaped porch.

Mr. Frick was a salesman for the Johnson-McQuinty Co.

Mr. Bachman represented the Continental Gin Co.

Mr. Hughes was Chairman of the State Corporation Commission and was indicted for criminal conspiracy after holding office for ten years; the case was later dismissed. Although his salary was only $333 per month, his wife testified that he had hidden embezzled funds throughout the house. His orders were, "In case of fire, grab these first." At one time, Hughes had given his wife $18,000 to hide in a secret pocket of her corset. Hughes fled to Mexico where he obtained a Mexican divorce.
