My husband Derrick and I are renovating our new home on NE 17th, and we’d like to share our project with the neighborhood. We’re only the third owners of the house, which is absolutely amazing considering its age, and a lot of the interior is still in great condition, but it definitely has its eyesores. I think the listing on lincolnterrace.org said it has “good bones,” which is real estate speak for “needs a lot of work” – and boy does it! We have a contractor working with us on the initial lift of projects that we’re tackling now, including repairing all the windows and doors, updating the core home systems (electrical, gas, plumbing and HVAC), refinishing and saving as much wood trim and molding as we can, and painting the whole interior. He’ll also be working with us over the next couple of years as we take on additional projects, including updating the kitchen and two bathrooms, plus adding a master bath and renovating the apartment in the garage.
We will be updating you on the progress of the renovation. We are looking forward to sharing the “after” pictures with you!
