If you answered no to that question, keep on reading! Maintaining a lush, green, well manicured lawn shows the pride you take in your home’s appearance. Here are some basic tips so that you can be the envy of the neighborhood:
- Watering: Early morning is the best time to water because evaporation will be less. Avoid watering at night, as this can leave your lawn vulnerable to mildew and fungus.
- Mowing: In spring, mow once a week with the blades at their highest setting, and gradually lower them as growth accelerates. Never cut off more than 1/3 the height of your grass at one time. Also changing mowing patterns every few weeks is healthy for your lawn.
- Removing Debris: Rake up fallen leaves and branches promptly. Also trim those trees up so that there is enough sunlight to reach every blade of grass.
- Fertilize when Necessary: A well fed, healthy lawn has a better root system and is more resistant to drought and disease. Most lawns require fertilization four to five times per year.
All this sound like too much work, there is always another option. Hire a lawn care service company to take care of it!
