1800 Lindsay belongs to the newest group of houses in this area. A one-story used brick house with a wood shingle roof was built in the early 1950s or late 1940s. The plan is ell-shaped with garages on N.E. 19th Street.

Charles Tilghman 1951-1973

Mr. Tilghman was the son of William "Bill" Tilghman who was an early-day statehood U.S. Marshall. He moved to Oklahoma about 1893 from Dodge City, Kansas and was a banker in Chandler, Oklahoma for some time. When he moved to Oklahoma City he was engaged in real estate and investments.

William Tilghman was a U.S. Marshall, first in Dodge City, then later in Oklahoma City. He was police chief here in the city at one time. He was instrumental in tracking down the celebrated Doolan gang and other notorious robbers of that era. Mrs. Zoe Tilghman, his second wife, wrote a biography, Bill Tilghman, Western Marshal, which chronicled many of his accomplishments.
