1425 N. Lincoln

A "set" piece on the west side of Lincoln Boulevard at the entrance of the great mall leading to the Capitol, this historic house is matched on the east side of Lincoln by a similar high style well-designed and superbly constructed house. It presents an "edge" along Lincoln Boulevard, starting with a two-story garage/quarters connected to the main house with a pierced brick wall starting at an outdoor staircase and broken by a garden gate arched with brick voussoirs. The main house of red brick has a huge red tiled roof. It is the main feature and unifies the various elements, which include a Doric columned portico and a strangely proportioned window complex. This is an important statement architecturally to the Capitol area.

This house is not currently being used as a private residence.
